The 1953 Buick was pulled out of the grove. I purchased the shell from a friend who needed motor & transmission for his project.
October 2004 Well the Buick has made it home and is resting in the garage. I have started to disassemble.
Sept. 2005 Currently it is on the trailer going to G Custom Rides to get a new chassis. I have acquired my '74 Cadillac 472 Motor and will soon be rebuilding that. I have the front suspension and currently working on rear. I don't know what to use yet or until the chassis gets a little farther done. After a late night of transporting, the surgical extraction was a success!
March 2007 Well after further review and a reality check with the body of the above car. I had to find a car that was better suited for what I needed to do. The cost of replacing quarters in the Sedan was TOO much and so I found a better deal and I could get a HardTop for half what it would cost me to buy replacement body parts. I traveled 1,634 miles RT to Tecumseh, OK and picked up this beauty. I may look rough buy trust me it is solid compared to previous car. Now it is time to disassemble and get on Chassis and hopefully that will happen in next few weeks.
June 2007 The body was raised and chassis was removed. Body was placed on dolly so it can be moved around the shop. My Son thought that was pretty cool. Well after long discussion we decided that it was time to scrap the 48D and so we decided to make it a drop top (Kind of). The Trunk will be a custom couch. So that is where we are today. I think this couch will be a nice addition to my garage! We will be creating a few more '53 couches also. As far
as the rest of the chassis, well I fell kind of bad. Being that what I based
my vision on 2.5 years ago is now a pile of scrap.
